What is I Love Montessori?May 27, 2008 by Miss Norma | No comments
So what is this blog/web site about? It’s about all things Montessori as it relates to my experiences. As soon as I started working in the Montessori environment as an assistant teacher in an upper elementary classroom, I new that this was the place for me. I knew I wanted to be a Lead Directress and learn more about educating children through this philosophy.
I started this blog because I want to share my views and experiences as a mom and a devoted Montessori teacher. I recently finished the primary certification with American Montessori Society (AMS). I really enjoyed this experience even though at times it seems as if I was never going to finish. It was lot of work and up and downs for me. I am extremely happy I did it.
Next year I will be a Lead Directress in a private AMS (American Montessori Society) accredited Montessori school. I am extremely excited and happy to start this journey. This is just the beginning because I plan to eventually go back for training for the elementary certification. I will take it one step at a time and take a few years to learn and enjoy the little ones to then be able to better understand the older children.
This blog will be about me as a Montessori mom, believer and follower. I want to inspire others to believe in what I experience everyday in my classroom, children learning in a peaceful and happy environment. Children learning at their own pace, helping and guiding each other. The Montessori classroom is one that truly opens your eyes to an incredible way of learning. The classroom is full of life and inspiration. The children inspire each other and their teachers.
Also, I would like to express my experience as a mom of a Montessori student and share her experiences too. Sometimes I will talk about what she is learning and sometimes I will talk about what I am working on with my children.
